Article 35A is not ‘sab ka saath sab ka vikaas’

New Delhi July 13 (ANI): In an era where India is moving ahead of everything, there still remains a part of it which is fighting for its basic human rights. People in Jammu-Kashmir are fighting against Article 35A in the Constitution of India according to which whosoever do not have a permanent residence certificate will not be entitled to higher studies, government jobs, land and other benefits. During a study, Jammu Kashmir Study Centre found out about Article 35A, an added article to the constitution of India via presidential order in 1954, without the involvement of India’s Parliament. The Article 35A has gone unnoticed for years by the government of India since it has not been mentioned anywhere else but in the appendix of the Constitution of India. However, as it is gripping focus, we hope that government takes positive measures towards the victims as soon as possible.
