At least five injured in gas cylinder explosion in Andhra

Rajahmundry, July 23 (ANI): At least five people were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in Rajahmundry city of Andhra Pradesh. An electric transformer had caught fire due to the explosion. Five vehicles were turned to ash and two shops adjacent to the transformer were completely gutted. Several auto rickshaws and two-wheelers were also damaged. Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot, thereby averting a major tragedy in the city. The injured with burnt injuries were rushed to a nearby hospital. The incident happened near a cultural centre where several ministers and officials of the state were present. State Interior Minister, Nimmakayala Chinna Rajappa, rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.
