Bihar Bandh called on Tuesday, July 21 by Left Front Parties

Patna: The Left Front Parties in Bihar have called for a State wide shutdown on July 21 against the policies of both State Government and Central Government. The Bandh has been called by Communist Party of India, Communist Party (Marxist) and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Liberation).

The Bandh is likely to hit a large part of Bihar and several prominent Left Leaders including CPIML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya would participate in protests during the Bandh.

Left Parties have decided to stay away from both RJD-JDU-Congress coalition and the National Democratic Alliance led by BJP). Earlier CPI had contested the 2014 General Elections in alliance with JDU, however since then they have separated.

Earlier this year, Left Parties decided to contest the Bihar Assembly elections together. This Bandh is an attempt by left parties to resurge their presence in state politics which has been fading continuously.
