Convenor of Bihar Aam Aadmi Party quits to form Aam Aadmi United Party

Patna: Several Leaders of Aam Aadmi Party, Bihar unit have resigned and floated a new Political Party, after expressing disappointment over Central Leadership on key issues which included not contesting Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections.

Bihar convenor of AAP, Basant Choudhary along with the district committee leaders have floated Aam Aadmi United (AAU), which will contest elections on all 243 Seats in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha Polls.

The Leaders, in a meeting held on Sunday, also expresses disappointment over pre-poll alignment of AAP with JDU-Congress-RJD Alliance.

“In taking this call, we were guided by grave departures from professed principles of AAP and by unethical practices that have overtaken the party,” said Basant Kumar Chaudhary, who was also elected the Convenor of the new Party.

In the 2014 General Elections, AAP had contested on 39 Seats in Bihar, but failed to make any impact as it received less than 1% vote share in Polls. Under such circumstances, contesting on all 243 seats would prove costly for a newly formed political party.
