Declining interest of youngsters in science and technology a matter of concern: PM Modi

New Delhi, July 26 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the tenth edition of Mann ki Baat on radio. Modi lauded the science and technology department of the country for the successful launch of UK’s 5 heavy satellites. He said that the youth of the country are not interested in science and technology these days which is a matter of concern as these are basis of development. Modi said that the educational institutions should take the initiative of maintaining the interest of students in such fields and encourage them to pursue research work. He then gave a few examples where people have taken up their hobby and merged with their job highlighting a TTE from Nagpur who makes paintings related to railways only. Modi also congratulated a contingent of policemen who started an initiative where brothers will gift toilets to their sisters on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
