Five members of a family die due to landslides in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, July 10 (ANI): At least five members of a family died due to landslides caused by heavy rains in Uttarakhand. The incident happened in Pauri, about 150 kilometres from state capital Dehradun. District officials said heavy rains since Wednesday evening caused landslides in several parts of the state. According to Chief of Disaster Management Centre in Pauri, Piyush Rautela boulders rolled down from a mountain and hit a house. Rautela added the Additional District Magistrate is also present at the spot and leading the rescue and relief work. The landslides also caused blockades at several areas in the state. Authorities have stepped up rescue and relief operations.
