Greeks remain deeply divided, fearful in historic referendum

Athens, July 05 (ANI): Greeks cast their votes in national referendum that could decide whether the debt-ridden country accepts EU’s bailout deal kicked off on Sunday amid uncertainty. The country’s capital Athens along set up 284 polling stations for voters to cast their vote. At a polling station in a campus of a local high school, less than 40 voters came to cast their votes in the first 30 minutes since the beginning of the referendum. Those who are against EU’s austerity deal did not give up their last try even at the polling station. A supporter of the “No campaign” backed by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was seen distributing leaflets at the polling station to call on voters to say no to EU. Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis voted on Sunday in a national referendum and said that he will resign if Greeks vote ‘yes’ for the aid-for-reforms package
