ITBP soldier opens fire, kills his senior & injures another in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, July 11 (ANI): An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) soldier went on a shooting spree at Mussoorie town in Uttarakhand, killing an officer and injuring another personnel. The incident occurred at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie. The accused trooper, Chandra Shekar, of the ITBP ran away with an assault rifle and 70 rounds of bullets. Shekar, who was apparently peeved at his senior Surendra Lal for initiating disciplinary action against him, opened fire from his assault rifle, killing Lal and injuring another Mohammed Alam. Public relation officer of ITBP, Vivek Pandey, said the Central government has ordered a probe. According to reports, a search has been launched to nab the accused who joined the force in 2012. The ITBP force guards the premier institute located in the hilly town.
