Late APJ Abdul Kalam’s mortal remains arrive at Delhi’s Palam Airport

New Delhi, July 28 (ANI): The mortal remains of Late Former President APJ Abdul Kalam, who died in Shillong last evening, arrived at Palam Technical Airport in Delhi on Monday. Kalam’s body was carried by a special IAF aircraft from Guwahati. The casket containing the mortal remains will be taken from the airport to his residence at 10 Rajaji Marg in a gun carriage, where it will be kept till evening for the public to pay homage. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and all three Service Chiefs are present at the airport to receive the mortal remains of the former president. Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi, Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung is also present there. All the three service personnel stood in formation to receive the body of Late Kalam. The tri – service also gave a guard of honour to the late former president. Bassi along with Indian Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan and Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha paid floral tributes to Late Kalam at the airport. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also laid floral wreath on the mortal remains of the ‘Missile man’.
