New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday said in a series of tweets that death penalty is wrong in practice and principle. On a day when 1993 Mumbai blasts accused Yakub Memon was hanged to death, Tharoor said that there is no evidence that death penalty serves as a deterrent. Although his remark drew flak for Congress party as a whole, Tharoor maintained that it was his personal view with regard to death as a punishment.
