Over 300 Kashmiri youths join Indian Army

Srinagar, July 20 (ANI): Over 300 youths of Jammu and Kashmir joined the Indian army with an aim to serve the country. The new recruits showcased an impressive passing out parade at the Bana Singh Parade Ground at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre in state’s summer capital Srinagar. The passing out parade is the graduation of a recruit and his transformation into a young soldier. The youths were happy to join the army and said it was the most proud moment for them. Over 2000 parents and relatives of the young soldiers along with a number of civil and military dignitaries were present at the event. Director General Recruiting, Lieutenant General RN Nair reviewed the passing out parade. He said the youths in Kashmir are interested in joining the army despite the separatist violence in the state.
