Petrol pump owners strike demanding hike in commission in Kerala

Kochi, July 06 (ANI): Petrol pumps across Kerala have been shut down from Sunday midnight as petrol pump owners went on a strike demanding hike in commission in Kerala. All Kerala Federation of Petroleum Traders and Kerala State Petroleum Traders Association are jointly observing the 24-hour strike on Monday seeking annulment of the sanctions given by the government and oil companies for new pumps. Reportedly, 567 pumps under it would not take part in the strike. The petrol pump owners are demanding that the government and oil companies change their policies encouraging privatisation, increase the rent of property as per rise in sale and avoid handling charges being levied by banks.
