Rahul Gandhi meets street vendors in Delhi, promises to take up their problems

New Delhi, July 13 (ANI): Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi, on Monday met street vendors and promised to take up their problems with the government. Before meeting them, Rahul visited a temple in New Delhi and paid obeisance to the deity. Gandhi said that the street vendors were oppressed and he would attempt to solve their problems. Congress leaders Ajay Maken and PC Chacko were also present. Indian parliament has passed the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Bill that aims to regulate street vending, protect rights of urban street vendors and prevent harassment by police and civic authorities.
