SC sent a good message of justice to all, says retired judge

New Delhi, July 30 (ANI): Justice (Retired) Fakhruddin on Thursday lauded the Indian judiciary for giving a historic judgement in 1993 Mumbai blasts case after Yakub Memon was hanged to death. Fakhruddin said that for the first time the highest court was open till late to hear Yakub’s mercy petition following all the legal processes. He said that although the case was hurried up but the SC also gave the decisions quickly not to delay the death warrant. Memon was hanged to death in Nagpur Central jail on Thursday morning after all his mercy pleas were rejected. Following this, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is likely to issue a statement in the Assembly later in the day.
