A 80 year old, UP-retired postmaster builds Taj Mahal Replica for his deceased wife

Bulandhshahr, Aug 22 (ANI): Inspired by the love of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his wife, a retired postmaster is building a mini replica of historic Taj Mahal for his late wife in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. Faizul Hasan Qadri had promised his wife Tajmulli to build a mini Taj Mahal to embody his love for her. He says the idea for building the replica came when once he and his wife were wondering if anyone would remember them after their death. Qadri, who is now finding it difficult to meet the spiraling cost of construction, said on he will fulfill the promise made to his wife at any cost. Qadri’s wife Tajmulli died of throat cancer in 2011, after 58 years of companionship. In February 2012, Qadri started working on the monument. He first took the workers to see the original Taj Mahal in Agra city so that they could understand the intricacies of the design. Though half-finished, the mini Taj Mahal is attracting visitors from far and wide. Reportedly, many people have offered financial help to Qadri but the retired government official refuses to take any external help. Qadri feels he must complete the personal endeavour for his late wife on his own.
