Bihar leader draws attention, takes elephant ride to work

Patna, Aug 03 (ANI): An elephant in Bihar drew all eyes towards itself recently when it was used as a mode of transport. In an attention-grabbing incident a legislature from Bihar, Shyam Bahadur Singh, recently rode an elephant to travel from his residence to the state assembly house. Singh is an MLA of Janata Dal United (JD(U)) party, which is the incumbent ruling party of Bihar, led by state chief Nitish Kumar. Singh reportedly took this step in an endeavour to spread awareness about conserving natural resources. The state of Bihar will be going for polls later this year. And this initiative taken by Singh is being termed as a publicity stunt ahead of elections. Before Singh another JD (U) MLA, Anant Singh in the year 2013 also dumped his Mercedes and rode a horse-drawn carriage to the state assembly premises.
