Lucknow, Aug 20 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in an effort to improve the social condition of rickshaw pullers in the state distributed free e-rickshaws to them. Addressing people, Akhilesh said that distribution of free e-rickshaws was yet another effort of his government towards overall development of the state. The CM gave away 100 battery operated e-rickshaws to pullers who owned tricycle rickshaws. The beneficiaries were chosen from 10 districts, including Lucknow, Kannauj, Rampur, Etawah and Azamgarh. UP government will distribute 27,000 e-rickshaws in the first phase of the scheme. Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav launched the scheme in the presence of senior ministers of the cabinet.
