Congress workers lead nation-wide protests over suspension of MPs

Srinagar/Kolkata/ Bhopal, Aug 04 (ANI): Agitated over the suspension of 25 of its members in Lok Sabha, an aggressive Congress party on Tuesday launched vociferous protests in various cities. Congress protesters were seen shouting anti Narendra Modi slogans in Srinagar. In Kolkata too Congress protesters shouted anti Narendra Modi slogans and burnt effigies. Protesters were holding placards demanding resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Similar protests were held in Bhopal too where the protesters came out on streets against the ‘undemocratic’ suspension of the MPs. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan suspended the Congress MPs on Monday over disruption of parliamentary proceedings under ruling 374 (A), leading to outrage from various quarters.
