Food Processing Minister welcomes court’s order on Maggi Noodles

New Delhi/ Bhopal/ Patna, Aug 14 (ANI): Food Processing Minister welcomed Bombay high court’s decision of overturning a nationwide ban on Maggi instant noodles. The Bombay High Court on Thursday ruled in favour of Nestle in its battle to overturn a nationwide ban on the noodles, but demanded the popular snack be tested again for safety before it can go on sale again. Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal said the government respected the court verdict. A spokesman of Nestle India said the company would comply with the court order, which it hopes will mark the beginning of the end of India’s worst packaged food scare in a decade. However, chairman of FSSAI, Ashish Bahuguna refused to comment saying he was not aware of the court order. The court order also brought smiles among people who said they were missing their favourite two-minute noodles.
