ISRO launches GSLV-D6 carrying GSAT-6 from Sriharikota

Sriharikota, Aug 27 (ANI): The Indian Space Research Organisation launched the Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) D6 which carried India’s latest communication satellite GSAT-6 in Sriharikota on Thursday. The 29-hour countdown for this launch began at 11.52 am on Wednesday after the Mission Readiness Review (MRR) committee and Launch Authorisation Board (LAB) cleared the starting of the countdown. The launch is important for India as it will reduce the cost of launching satellites and take ISRO one step closer to increasing the frequency of launches in a year.
