LFW Day 2: It’s all about ethnicity, glamour and tribute

New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): Day 2 of Lakme Fashion Winter/Festive week 2015 was more about being ethnic, being glamorous and paying a tribute to Indian weavers and traditions. Swati and Sunaina opened the Indian handloom and textiles day with their gorgeous ‘Banaras revisited’ collection under their label ‘SNNA Banaras Revisited’Taking the audience on an intricate and mind blowing journey, ace weave revivalist and textile designer, Gaurang Shah showcased his “Samyukta” collection with ageless beauty Sharmila Tagore and flawless beauty Tapsee Pannu. Rinku Sobti, along with Gauhar Khan who walked the ramp for the designer, treated the audience with feast of Varanasi textiles called “Tassels” under the label “Loom 1905” Jaipur based designers Rahul n Shikha with their brand ‘Vrisa’ rejuvenated one of the oldest forms of textile designing for their collection “A-Jharat”. Their collection was influenced by Ajrak designs and the printing technique used to make unique textiles called Bagru-Dabu.Ace designer Anita Dogre paid her tribute to grassroots with her collection.
