Louis Berger bribery case: Satyakam Mohanty sent to 14 days judicial custody by Panaji session Court

Panaji, August 07 (ANI): Former Louis Berger Vice-President Satyakam Mohanty was sent to 14 days judicial custody by Panaji session Court in the Louis Berger bribery case on Friday. Meanwhile, Hawala operator Raychand Soni was arrested in Louis Berger bribery case by Goa crime branch. An anticipatory bail was also given to Digambar Kamat till 12th August by Goa Special Court in the case. Louis Berger was part of a group that eventually won a contract to carry out a multi-billion dollar water and sewerage project in Goa worth Rs.1,031 crore funded by the Japan International Co-Operation Agency (JICA), which was cleared in 2010 by a Congress-led coalition government. Allegedly, the then Goa chief minister Kamat and Alemao, who was a minister in his cabinet, were the politicians who were paid bribe for the contract.
