Imphal, August 02 (ANI): NDRF and SDRF teams carried out relief and rescue operation in the flood ravaged areas of Chandel District in Manipur on Sunday. At least 20 villagers of Joumol village located in Chandel District were buried alive after a deadly landslide triggered by incessant rainfall devastated the village. Meanwhile, many houses were swept away due to incessant rainfall in the region since the past few days. Relief materials have been flown to the affected area, and the State Government dispatched a team of State Disaster Response Force to rescue the villagers. Meanwhile, landslides also wreaked havoc in between Bongyang and Lokchao along the Imphal-Moreh highway and Tengnoupal-Sangshak road in Chandel district.
