NSA refutes claim over Yakub’s execution

Mumbai, Aug 05 (ANI): India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval disapproved claims that 1993 Bombay blasts mastermind Yakub Memon was executed as his brother and key accused in the attack, Tiger Memon, could not be caught. During a news conference on ‘State Security, Statecraft and Conflict of Values’ in Mumbai, a reporter asked Doval: “There’s a feeling that India couldn’t catch Tiger Memon, so they’ve executed his younger brother?” He also said that inter-linkage between the two is not correct and it is wrong to assume so. India executed Yakub Memon on July 30 for his role in the country’s deadliest bombings, which killed at least 257 people in Mumbai in 1993, after the Supreme Court rejected a desperate overnight plea to delay his execution.
