People of all faiths throng shrine of Sufi Saint Lal Din Mundrian Wale in Rajouri

Kashmir, Aug 17 (ANI): Apart from its pristine beauty, the valley of Kashmir is known for its religious wealth in the form of numerous shrines and places of worship. The valley is replete with sepulchers of saints belonging to both Hindus and Muslims. One example is the shrine of Sufi Saint Lal Din in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir state, visited by thousands of devotees. Lal Din was born in Poonch district of the state. However, his burial place lies in Rajouri where his 22nd Urs was celebrated recently. A community kitchen is also set up during the urs, where the shrine administration offers free food to the devotees. Men and women form part of the celebration, holding prayers for their wellness. Amity between different communities has been a way of life in India for centuries. And, this is especially visible during fairs and festivals celebrated by people of different religions. During the urs, day long prayers are held by the devotees to seek blessings. People from different parts of the state also visit the shrine to offer prayers. The spirit witnessed during the Urs reflects the age-old communal harmony between the people of different communities in the country.
