Police baton charge protesting teachers in Bihar

Patna, Aug 28 (ANI): Several people sustained injuries when police baton charged protesting teachers in Patna city of Bihar. The teachers were sitting on protest, led by Bihar State Madrasa Teacher’s Association, from the last four days against the state government for non-payment of their dues since the past two years. According to reports, police resorted to baton charge to disperse the protesters who wanted to meet state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to press their demands. Madrasas are Muslim educational institutions. The protesters allege that teachers of 2,459 registered Madrasas in the state have not been paid their salaries from the two years.
