Protesting ex-servicemen say they will boycott commemoration of 1965 Indo-Pak War

New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): Ex-servicemen staging a protest in New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar area over the delay in the non-implementation of the one rank, one pension (OROP) scheme, said on Friday that they will boycott the 50th year commemoration of 1965 Indo-Pak War. On Friday, they expressed their determination to continue with their over two-month-long protest. Some even had to be taken to the hospital but they remained determined to continue with their agitation. On Thursday, the government’s efforts to break the deadlock over the demand for implementation of the OROP scheme saw another failure. They also threatened to intensify their agitation. Some of them have already rejected the government’s invitation for celebrations marking 50 years of the 1965 war, which begin Friday.
