SAS Geelani continues to be under house arrest

Srinagar, Aug 23 (ANI): Although Kashmiri separatist leaders put on house arrest were released on Thursday, Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani continues to be under detention on Sunday. Separatist leader Geelani continues to be in house arrest even as Pakistan canceled the NSA level talks with India. Pakistan said that peace talks with India cannot be held ‘on the basis of the preconditions set by India’. A heavy contingent of police is camped outside the 84-year-old separatist leader Geelani’s Hyderpora residence and nobody else is allowed inside the residence. The separatists were put under house detention to prevent them from meeting Sartaj Aziz in New Delhi. Meanwhile, separatist leader Bilal Lone was also detained at the Delhi Airport by the authorities on Saturday. He was scheduled to meet Pakistan NSA, Sartaj Aziz.
