Australian Defence Minister receives guard of honour in New Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 02 (ANI): Australian Defence Minister Kevin Andrews, was accorded the guard of honour and he laid floral wreath at flame of the immortal soldier or Amar Jawan jyoti in New Delhi on Wednesday (September 02). Andrews who is on a four-day visit to India is likely to meet his Indian counterpart Manohar Parrikar and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations. Andrews, accompanied by Australian High Commissioner to India, Patrick Suckling, called on Union Foreign Minister, Sushma Swaraj, in New Delhi on Tuesday (September 01). India and Australia have a history of regular exchange of visits at ministerial level. Defence Cooperation between India and Australia has also expanded significantly in recent years. There are frequent exchanges of visits including at the level of Service Chiefs, regular Naval, Air Force and Army Talks; joint naval exercises; regular exchanges at each other’s training institutes and seminars.
