OROP: Back from hospital Retd Col Pushpendra Singh joins protest at Jantar Mantar

New Delhi/Hyderabad, Sep 02 (ANI): Retired Colonel Pushpendra Singh rejoined the One Rank One Pension (OROP) protest lead by former defense personnel in the national capital after he recovered from his ill-health on Wednesday. Pushpendra was discharged from hospital earlier in the day. On August 24, Singh was rushed to the hospital due to his deteriorating health condition. After he was declared fit from the hospital, Singh immediately rejoined the aggrieved veterans agitating against the non-implementation of OROP scheme. Meanwhile, veterans also staged relay hunger strike in Hyderabad demanding early implementation of OROP. One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme has been a long-standing demand of nearly three-million ex-servicemen and war widows in the country. It seeks to ensure that a uniform pension is paid to defence personnel, who retire at the same rank with the same length of service irrespective of their date of retirement.
