Assam CM demands Governor Acharya’s removal

New Delhi, Nov 27(ANI): Demanding removal of Assam’s acting Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya for his sectarian remarks, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday said PB Acharaya doesn’t deserve to continue as Governor”. He said in his long political career hasn’t seen many governors, but not one like him. Governor Acharya, who was an RSS ideologue, acting as a Sangh ideologue even after assuming the office, which is against the spirit of the Constitution. He further said the Governor office is the most responsible office, but he is not maintaining its dignity. PB Acharaya said Hindustan belongs to the Hindus and Muslims can go to Pakistan,” in response to Acharya’s widely reported remark that “Hindustan is for Hindus” and “Indian Muslims were free to go to Bangladesh or Pakistan”. The Chief Minister alleged that Acharya was nominating RSS followers in the Dibrugarh University Academic Council. “He is nominating RSS people in Bodoland and encouraging BJP MLAs to speak against the Congress Government in the state.”
