Driver of a cash van flees with over Rs. 22 crore

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): In a daring incident of robbery, the driver of a cash van absconded with more than 22 crore rupees of cash. The cash was inside a locked box which the thieves have stolen. The heist took place in South Delhi’s Govindpuri area. Borders adjoining the capital has been sealed. The police patrols in the capital have been put on high alert.The incident was reported in the evening when the armed guard accompanying the van asked the driver to stop the vehicle near Govindpuri Metro station so that he could relieve himself by the roadside, said police. CCTV grabs have been obtained from nearby premises while eyewitnesses are being examined and several teams have been put on the case, police added. Police said that this could be the biggest cash heist in Delhi after the January 2014 gunpoint robbery of Rs 7.69 crore from a businessman at BRT corridor near Moolchand flyover.
