Malayalam director Ali Akbar maligning image of Islamic institutions, says Muslim cleric

New Delhi/Lucknow/Jaipur: A cleric on Monday rubbished Malayalam film director Ali Akbar’s allegation that an ‘ustad’ (master) had sexually abused him and they simply dismissed all the allegations. Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, Muslim cleric said that he simply dismiss the allegation of the Malayalam film director. He says it as a conspiracy to malign the image of the Islamic institutions because one must keep in mind that at this Islamic institution, emphasis is laid on discipline and moral education. I think this is a conspiracy to affect the positive image of these Madrasas and strongly want to say that there is no sexual abuse in any Madrasa throughout India. While Imam Umer Illyasi (Muslim Cleric) says that the Madrasa is a big one and thousands of students are there and the education given by Madrasa is religious education. However Abdul Lateef has strongly dismissed all the allegations by Malayalam film director Ali Akbar.
