Opposition slams Rajnath’s ‘secular most misused word’ remark

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): The opposition lashed out at Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh over his remark that ‘secularism’ is the ‘most misused’ word in politics. Janata Dal (United) Ali Anwar alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are pseudo nationalist. They hate the word secularism right from the beginning. Secularism means that everybody believes in their religion and there is no interference of the government. This is the main principle of our Constitution. Another Janata Dal (United) leader Pawan Verma said he was surprised that the Home Minister spoke exclusively on secularism during the discussion on the Constitution. It’s unfortunate that secularism has become a dirty word for the BJP and Hindutva. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, on his part said Rajnath wants that there is no secularism and socialism in the country.
