Paris, Nov 30 (ANI): Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s concern towards the climate changes came from his passion for the cause and not due to any ‘compulsions’, Union minister of state for coal, power and renewable energy Piyush Goyal said that India can be proud of its role in the Climate Change Conference (COP21) in Paris. Stressing on the importance of the awareness of global warming, he added that its impact was quite visible in the past few years and the world has now realised that if the issue is not addressed soon, the end result could be catastrophic. The Union Minister expressed confidence that India was one of the nation’s which was showing leadership in terms of expanding renewable energy, looking at innovations, technology, ways to expand energy security and raising concerns for the environment.
