Ghazipur, Nov 27 (ANI): Six people were killed and four injured as a truck and a jeep collided head on at National Highway-29 in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh state late on Thursday. The injured were rushed to a nearby private hospital, while the bodies of those killed have been sent for post mortem by the police. All the 10 occupants of the jeep were from the same village and were headed to the holy city of Varanasi for the last rites of a kin. Doctor Mukesh Singh, Walgreen Hospital, said that one of the injured was seriously injured in the accident but was stable. The impact of the collision was such that it left the jeep badly battered. Meanwhile, the police are on a look out for the truck driver, who fled the spot leaving behind his truck soon after the accident.
