Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said that it was evident that ‘jungle raj’ would return in the state post the victory of the grand alliance in the state assembly polls.

BJP Leader Rajeev Pratab Rudy said that we all knew that this was going to happen in Bihar if Lalu-Nitish alliance got victorious. BJP had promised good governance, people rejected us, he said.

On December 26, two engineers, working with a private road construction company M/S BSCCNC, were shot dead in Darbhanga district, allegedly over extortion demand. As per reports, two men on motorcycles attacked the project engineers – Brajesh Kumar and Mukesh Kumar – while they were supervising road construction at Darbhanga-Kusheshwarsthan highway. Both were taken to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where they were declared as “brought dead”

Five days ago the construction company had sought protection for the engineers after receiving a demand for ransom. The police had responded by deputing policemen to stand guard at the construction site.

But the policemen were removed from the post on Friday and were not present when the attack happened. Police said that six suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of two engineers.
