Army’s alertness helped in combating terrorists: Lt. Gen Satish Dua

Srinagar, Feb 14 (ANI): Speaking about the recent Kupwara encounter, Srinagar’s Lieutenant General Satish Kumar Dua on Sunday said that five terrorists had holed up in a house in Chowkibal area of J&K but the army troops moved with alacrity, eliminating all five terrorists in a night-long operation. However, two soldiers were martyred in the encounter. Stating that all the five militants were foreign terrorists and that the weapons and equipment recovered belongs to the Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Lieutenant General said that the army is investigating if there is an involvement of new group. Dua further said that from the past few months, infiltration was in check and that because of the army’s alertness on the LoC, they have been able to limit the number of infiltrations.
