Global auto majors bullish about growth in India

Greater Noida, Feb 06 (ANI): Hundreds of enthusiasts thronged country’s largest automobile exhibition as global auto majors hailed India as a highly competitive and fast growing market.Faced with slackening demand and falling sales in other major markets like China, the auto biggies are looking at India as a bright spot. Almost 80 new models were unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo in two-days. Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Hyundai Motors India, Rakesh Srivastava, said the auto companies were optimistic about India’s growing economy.The US carmaker General Motors unveiled two new models – Beat Active and Essentia — at its pavilion on the first day of the auto show. Vice President, Marketing and Customer Experience, General Motors India, Jack Uppal, said that India was a significant market for Chevrolet.GM is set to launch its new multipurpose vehicle, Chevrolet Spin, in India in 2017. The exposition was thrown open to the public on Friday. It was a huge hit among car and bike enthusiasts as they posed alongside swanky models for photographs. The auto show also put on plate the new the new-generation Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW) 7-series.
