Meteorite explosion kills one in TN, state announces compensation

Vellore (Tamil Nadu), Feb 08 (ANI): The Tamil Nadu government announced compensation for the victims of the meteorite explosion that took place in Vellore district. The meteorite fell in a private engineering college campus on Saturday. It created a small crater near the building complex. A bus driver, who was walking near the crash site, died in the incident. Three other students suffered injuries. Relief of Rs 1 lakh has been given to the family of deceased driver Kamarajan, who died in the incident, and relief of Rs 25,000 each to three students of the engineering college who were injured in the incident. In the explosion, windows of a college bus and several glass planes of a building were damaged.
