Wild elephant goes on rampage in Siliguri

Siliguri, Feb 10 (ANI): A wild elephant went on a rampage in an Ektiasal village of West Bengal’s Siliguri district after straying from a nearby forest in the wee hours of Wednesday, destroying around 100 houses. Panic gripped residents of who woke up hearing roars of the adult mammal which strayed into the area from Baikunthapur forest region at around 3am. A villager Milan Saha said they felt helpless as the elephant went about damaging property. However, there were no reports of casualty. Forest department officials are trying to capture the mammal.
