11-member IAF team begins operation to douse Uttarakhand forest fire

Nanital/ Srinagar, May 01 (ANI): An 11-member India AirForce team started fire-fighting operations to douse off the massive fire in Garwal’s Srinagar forests on Sunday. IAF’s chopper MI-17 took off from Nainital on Sunday to drop water in areas affected by the forest fire. Mi-17 v5 lifted water from Bhimtal lake in Nainital and sprayed it over the forest. Meanwhile, massive fire continues to rage across 2270 hectares of forest area, affecting around five districts.
