Preparation for Amarnath yatra in full swing

Pahalgam, May 24 (ANI): Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have begun clearing huge tracts of land free of snow ahead of the holy pilgrimage, Amarnath Yatra, in July this year. The Amarnath Shrine stands at a height of nearly 12,500 feet above sea level, 141 kilometres from the state’s capital Srinagar. Thousands of devotees from across the world visit the holy cave of Amarnath every year. Dozens of workers have been deployed to clear the roads.The pilgrimage to the holy Amarnath cave shrine will begin on July 2 this year.
