U’khand crisis: CBI summons Harish Rawat over sting operation

Dehradun, May 05 (ANI): Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat has been summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with its inquiry into a sting operation that allegedly showed the Congress leader attempting to bribe lawmakers to support him in a floor test. Rawat on Thursday accused the Centre of misusing the investigating agency to tamper the floor test. He also said that they will co-operate with the probe. He added that the BJP has started a lot of things, like this CBI summon. The summons to Rawat comes just days after the Supreme Court said that he should be allowed to take a trust vote in the state assembly. The CBI has asked Rawat to appear before it on Monday for questioning in connection with the alleged sting operation which shows the former chief minister negotiating the price with a journalist to buy the support of the legislators.
