Water crisis continues to haunt the country

Gulbarga/West Bengal, May 01 (ANI): People across India continue to reel under a severe water crisis as residents struggled to collect water in the middle of a harsh summer. Residents of Gulbarga city in Karnataka, one of the worst affected regions, have been hit hard as the city’s main source of water, the river Bhima, has almost vanished. The crisis is as severe in West Bengal. Wells have dried up and the quality of scant water available is not good. Extreme temperatures across the country have added to the people’s plight. India is witnessing two straight years of drought, the fourth time in over a century.
