David Cameron resigns after Britons vote to leave EU

London, June 24 (ANI): Welcoming the call of the masses against Britain retaining membership in the European Union, Prime Minister David Cameron, who resigned from his office today, said he will continue to work for the welfare of British citizens in the next few months. Cameron said, “I fought this campaign the only way I know going with what I strongly believe,” and added that people’s will must be respected. “I am very proud and honoured to have been the Prime Minister of Britain for the last six years”, said Cameron, further reassuring the markets and investors that Britain’s economy is fundamentally strong. Cameron was addressing a press conference in London.
