26/11 sniffer dog hero ‘Tiger’ passes away

Mumbai, July 24 (ANI): 26/11 hero dog Tiger who retired from the police service last year, died at the Virar farm in Mumbai on Saturday. He was the third dog who helped detect bombs during the Mumbai terror attack, to pass away in the last four months. Tiger, a black labrador was suffering from lung infection. Animal activist Fizzah Shah said the dog was on regular treatment for lung infection but his condition worsened on Friday night. Shah also recalled that after Tiger’s childhood buddy and colleague Sultan passed away in the farm, Tiger became lonely. Caesar is the only sniffer dog of the 26/11 Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team left in the farm. Tiger has been given a dignified burial in the Virar farms itself.
