Exhibition to revive Zardosi embroidery held

Vadodara, July 30 (ANI): In an attempt to revive the nearly extinct Zardosi embroidery, an exhibition-cum-workshop depicting world-famous monuments was organised in Gujarat’s Vadodara city. The beautiful Persian work that involves making elaborate designs, using of gold and silver threads, has been in existence in India from the time of the Rig Veda. Zardosi attained its summit in the 17th century under the patronage of Mughal Emperor Akbar. The four-day event, organised by the Maharaja Sayajirao University’s Faculty of Family and Community Sciences, was a major attraction for handicraft lovers.
