Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand), July 02 (ANI): Army columns of Assam Regiment have come to the rescue of villagers in Pithoragarh after a cloudburst hit the area yesterday. State Disaster Response Force also conducted a rescue operation in blocked areas of Pithoragarh’s Bastari area. Superintendent of Police (SP) R.L. Sharma said six bodies have been found until now. Elaborating further, he said rescue operation is going on and will soon recover all the missing bodies. The entire state has been receiving heavy rain since Thursday and as per officials, death toll is expected to increase even further. Due to flash floods in several areas, water levels have also risen.
