Coimbatore, July 30 (ANI): A six-month-old baby elephant which was injured and roaming with its mother near the Mangarai area on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border has died from exhaustion. The mother elephant mourned her calf’s death and stood for hours trying to revive it by pouring water. She also did not allow forest officials and local residents to come near the dead calf for a long time. The dead calf has been since removed from the site, but the restless mother elephant is still searching for its baby.
